After the rescue of the boy the townspeople realize that Julia's been the monster they've been afraid of, and she's arrested and sent to jail. Julia admits to kidnapping and murdering the children but the confession is later revealed to be a lie. It transpires that Julia is part of an organization which 'rescues' young children from bad homes and places them with good ones in an attempt to break the cycle of poverty and abuse which passes from one generation to the next. The organization is world-wide and takes children from all over the globe, giving them a chance at having a real life in good homes free of abuse and neglect. |
