The Hawks' origins are in the inner-eastern Melbourne suburb of [[Hawthorn, Victoria|Hawthorn]] and also at [[Glenferrie Oval]], the club's former administrative and training base and social club. Matches, however, have not been played there since 1973. In 2006, Hawthorn's training and administration facilities were relocated to [[Waverley Park]] in the middle of the club's major supporter base in Melbourne's outer-eastern region. Since 2007 Hawthorn have played four games a year at their second ground of [[York Park]] in [[Launceston, Tasmania|Launceston]], Tasmania, with the remaining games played at the [[Melbourne Cricket Ground]], the club's current playing [[home ground]].
