    An inspiring performance, too

An inspiring story, for sure. However, the story would have been lost if not for a great performance by Carey Lowell. In a script which could have easily fallen into the maudlin, Ms. Lowell portrays the lead with a grace and subtlety rarely seen on TV today, let alone Lifetime (where most movies deal with either rape, abortion, or homosexuality). Carey Lowell is a superb actress. Her roles have been varied and challenging -- LICENSE TO KILL, THE GUARDIAN, LAW AND ORDER, FIERCE CREATURES. Her performance here is nothing less then inspiring in itself. -jk

    Poorly researched

As a sufferer of Macular degeneration for over 5 years It is appalling to find such a poorly researched portrayal of the illness.

Macular degeneration does not leave you completely blind, it only affects central vision. Peripheral vision is unaffected.

The whole medical description is unworthy of the subject matter, even a simple internet search will show you the story line is pure fantasy. The fact I am typing this is fairly conclusive in itself.

It's a horrible condition which ruins lives but I resent it being used to glorify a tale which is obviously false. This movie is an insult to the millions who struggle on through life with the condition, most people don't even realise we suffer with it, this movie just encourages those who believe it to be some sort "con" to engender sympathy or financial aid.

    rant over.

Be thankful for what you have

This is the story of the amazing courage of a woman who faces so many heartaches in such a short time but displays the strength and willingness to go on no matter what. I definately recommend this movie to anyone. It makes us realize we must be thankful for the things we sometimes take for granted. This woman is an inspiration to all of us. Just remember to thank God each and every day for the sunrises and sunsets, and the skies filled with stars, and smile from strangers. In short, Just be thankful for what you have. Thank you, Joan Brock, for sharing your amazing story with the world. May God bless you.

    What a Brave woman!!!!

I just finished watching the movie and I have to say that Joan Brock is a very inspirational woman! She had a lot of bad things happen to her in such a short time. If it wasn't bad enough that she lost her eyesight, she had to lose her husband as well. Not many of us would be able to overcome such a horrible experience, but she did! And she shows us that we can survive anything if we set our minds to do so.

    Classy, uplifting, & beautifully-acted

At a time when so many people feel like they have no choice about events going on around them, this type of story shows that an individual CAN call up courage from within.... Why doesn't Hollywood make more stories like this?
