    Tragic and despair

This movie is so sad. A man who is losing all hope and desperate to find a way to keep on going
    8FilmCriticLalitRao

Enrique Rivero is a new voice of hope for Mexican cinema as his film Parque Via is an experience in loneliness.

How can somebody define a film which starts and ends with a killing. The major difference lies in the fact that an insect is killed in the beginning of the film and a human being is killed at the end of the film.A new fascinating trend has emerged in Latin American cinema which consists of depicting the lives of ordinary characters. This method is employed in order to get closer to realities as in recent times the lines between fiction films and documentaries appear to have almost blurred. If one talks about Mexican cinema, this style is very much evident in the films of Carlos Reygadas.By directing a successful film "Parque Via",Mexican director Enrique Rivero has given boost to innovative style of film-making where very little detail gives rise to a wealth of narrative information.Mexican directors Carlos Reygadas and Enrique Rivero have a lot in common especially their professional background (one chap is a former lawyer and other guy is a former engineer) which has enabled them to choose themes closer to human lives for their films.Loneliness is a human sentiment which is at the core of this film's narrative pattern which is woven in such a manner that slowly and steadily the audience begins to understand the protagonist's dilemma. This is something which happens in the film as lonely people are always inventive at finding ways to overcome their fears about loneliness.Film critic Lalit Rao spoke to Enrique Rivero during 13th IFFK 2008.He stated that his film was not well received by viewers in Japan as may be it has something to do with Japanese culture.Parque Via found superb response from audiences at Kerala, Locarno and Nantes where it won multiple prizes.
