    Awful writing and awful host

Had to turn it off halfway as the writing was so cringe. So so soooooo bad I couldn't take it anymore. Like did these writers have ANY experience? And the host was also terrible. Even he mentioned how bad the writing f was. Which was actually super cringe as well as unprofessional. The dude couldn't deliver a joke and it was obvious. The cuts to the audience made it even worse as they all looked embarrassed or horrified as well. This was such a train wreck that even the pretty outfits and favorite celebrities couldn't keep me watching he side I knew it would come back to this awful host and awful writing. Surely there must be better options.

The Golden Globes are back! Austin wins for Elvis and Steven shines as best director!

They're Back! "NBC" once again returned the "Golden Globes" after not televising the awards show last year it came back with the 80th edition hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael and his jokes were funny yet they did push the envelope and toll the line! The tributes was spot on and well deserved as two Murphy's were honored that being bold filmmaker Ryan Murphy who's works are always super great and real and actor and funnyman Eddie Murphy was honored for his fine long body of work!

On the TV side the big winners were "ABC's" "Abbott Elementary" and Evan Peters won a best actor award for limited series for his work as the gruesome Jeffrey Dahmer from "Netflix's" series. And Mike White's "The White Lotus" series from "HBO" brought him best director and the actress award went to the bold brash Jennifer Coolidge for a best supporting turn for the limited series, as "HBO" proves their gem series still produce winners.

On the movie side as expected young pretty boy newcomer Austin Butler won best actor in a drama film for his all pro turn as Elvis he's still in form as his voice is still talking like Elvis! And the legend Steven Spielberg won for best director and his personal film "The Fabelmans" won for best drama picture making it the Oscar front runner best picture. And Brad Pitt the man shined in the crowd with his new smile! Glad to see the Globes are back as even though it ran a little over it was a well done awards show which kicked off the awards season so brightly with a shine.

ricky, where are you, please come back

My previous review got deleted for unspecified reasons, I'm guessing because the truth hurts?

Well this did the opposite of what it was supposed to, if your aim is to frame your expensive movie in a flattering light and make it feel like it's worth watching. It was anti promotion.

The host was straight up unfunny, and uninteresting, and I really didn't care what he does in his private life so didn't care to hear about it.

    Everyone looked tired, and trashy,

Then they brought out Zelenski all dressed up in his best army jersey. Just all kinds of weird. It felt like propaganda reducing complex political situations to studio shot sound bites, which is I guess what hollywood does to things with complexity.

Offensive, boring, depressing, intelligence insulting, unfunny, un-entertaining, and un-fun.

    Awful without Ricky Gervais !!

Like most people I have very litle interest in these awards shows - just look at the lack of reviews. I skipped through it as much as possible, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT RICKY GERVAIS !!!!

The Host was a shocker - he was son 'safe and boring' that I am sure many people there fell asleep. There was no energy and no friction.

Sure Will smaking Chris was out of order, and so was his comment about Will's wife, and we dont want that again. But there needs to be some 'action' and some 'feeling'.

This is what happens when you dont try so hard not to offend or upset anyone - it means that you bore the hell out of everyone.

Like many people I didnt watch it all and just looked up all the winners the next day.

    Bring Ricky Gervais back !!!!

    Seriously, though...

They need to stop airing these award shows that have entitled actors.

First, incomparable is over used. Every single person in that room is incomparable....that is not possible. Two, every single actor that won yells to turn off the rap up music.

Seriously, we don't want or need to know everyone you want to kiss up too. And obvious the award show kisses up to the minorities. They should just give us a list of movies that they think we need to watch and not fuss when we choose not to see the films. At least there wasn't much political talk for once. This is not worth the watch.

Please just give us a list of movies you think we should watch.

Self - Honoree: [his acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille, referring to the incident at the 94th Academy Awards] I want you to know that there is a definitive blueprint that you can follow to achieve success, prosperity, longevity, and peace of mind. It's a blueprint and I followed it my whole career. It's very simple, there's three things that you need to do: pay your taxes, mind your business, and keep Will Smith's wife's name of your fuckin mouth!
