The Most Beautiful Couple

No pun intended - and I think if you can make the connection, you know what I am aiming for. The movie starts with our two leads being quite free on their vacation. I don't think we are ever made aware of where this is playing. I read here, that it is supposed to be an island, but other than that ... it is also not really important. What is important is, what one character in particular is doing.

Using alcohol as an excuse is not enough of course. But people do nasty stuff. The fallout, the way our characters are dealing with what happens to them ... it is quite intriguing to see that. We can not see inside their heads - but we can see how they (re)act and how their behavior is ... and we can totally understand them.

A genre piece - something that is well made and really well acted. More like this please - not every story beat, but being grim and heighten the drama. Not an easy watch to say the least.
