     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He was a director of the Tysex Line Ltd.2 He was a director of the Cunard Steam Ship Company.2 He was chairman of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line.2 He lived at Gordonbush, Brora, Sutherland, ScotlandG.1

     Helen Margaret Leslie was the daughter of Charles Frederick Henry Leslie.2 She married Hon. Sir Geoffrey Cokayne Gibbs, son of Herbert Cokayne Gibbs, 1st Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon and Anna Maria Durant, on 6 October 1926.1 She died in 1979.2
     Her married name became Gibbs. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire in 1942.2 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Oxfordshire in 1950.2 She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1961.2
